    A beautiful Hawaiiana Style, two-story home on a quiet side street in Kailua. Close to world famous Kailua beach, downtown Kailua & is a 4 minute drive to the Marine Corps Base. You may have noticed we have 3 postings online advertising the place available for rent: 1. $3,500* including utilities - The upstairs = 980sq ft, 1970 build, 3 bed, 1.5 bath, deck, 2 onsite parking stalls. 2. $4,500* including utilities - The downstairs = 1,500sq ft, 2017 build, 3 bed, 2.5 bath, lanai, 2 onsite parking stalls. 3. $7,500* (not including utilities) - The whole house = 2,500sq ft, 6 bed, 3 full bath, 2 half baths, deck, lanai, 4 onsite parking stalls. *A 2% annual rental rate increase will be written into the lease. Example: YR1: $3,500/month. YR2: $3,570/month, etc. Right now we are living in the home as 1 large house. However, we recognize how few families are looking for a 6 bedroom house, so our plan the 1st week of June in anticipation we will have 2 separate tenants wanting a 3 bedroom home, is to divide the 6 bedroom house into two 3 bedroom homes by building a wall along the staircase. This will divide the 1 large house into 2 separate homes with private entrances. so yes, this home is currently available to rent as a 3 bedroom or a 6 bedroom. OVERALL To capture the cool breeze coming in from the East there are extra large windows in the family room both upstairs & downstairs. Additionally downstairs we have french doors that open outward into the large grassy front yard. The home sits on a 6,000 sq ft piece of land with a large grassy front yard. Trees: Large creamy avocado tree, lime, palmagranite, passion fruit in abundance, & a sandalwood tree. There are parking spaces for 4 cars on the property (2 stalls for upstairs & 2 for downstairs). There is a washer & dryer in the backyard. If the home is to be divided for 2 families, the occupants can create a schedule that works for them on who gets to do their laundry on which days. The house is located on a side lane with only 6 other homes it is private feeling with low traffic. Which is so great for families with young kids who want to ride their bicycles. We have many exciting local touches to make this home extraordinary - such as 2-9feet tall wood carved tiki's depicting the 4 Hawaiian gods for the front deck posts. And an outdoor shower made out of a surf board for a quick rinse after a fun day at the beach. On the downstairs inside the fans are carved in wood to look like Palm leafs. Handicap Friendly Downstairs - The entrance to the home has a step & stone stepping stones, but beyond that the entire downstairs floor was build with the end-of-life comforts in mind. Extra wide hallway, extra wide doorways & a roll-in shower. The master bedroom shower also has a bench. School Districts: Kainalu Elementary School Kailua Intermediate Kalaheo High School We will be moving out around June 8th. Almost the entire property has a tall fence surrounding it. It is a short fence enclosing the property along the driveway opening. It maybe stands 2ft tall. If you have pets that can hop over this you are welcome to have a taller fence installed. To help you with budget planning here is what a family of 4 with lots of visitors pays in monthly utilities. These amounts are approximate as they do fluctuate. Electricity: $250 Gas (for the stove): $15 Trash: $0 The city/country provides the service. Water: $120-$200 Depends on whether the sprinklers are running (summer). Additionally there are 2 gas tanks that were last filled Feb 19, 2026. When a tank runs out it is $220 to have it refilled. A family of 4 with plenty of visitors gets 10+ months from each tank.
