Candor Elderly is tucked back behind pine trees in a quiet part of town. It is a beautiful 20 minute drive to Owego to get groceries or do some shopping. There is also a bank, gas station, pizza shop, restaurant, and ice cream shop a short drive into the town of Candor. The tenants are welcome to make little gardens and put bird feeders outside of their bay windows to enjoy in the spring and summer months. The lawn care and snow removal is all taken care of by our Staff. The complex is a locked in building with a common area where tenants gather to have dinners, put a puzzle together, or play games. A small storage unit is also included with your apartment that is located in the building. We allow one pet per household with a $300 pet deposit. There is no smoking on the property at all; smokers must go out to the road. This housing is for people who are 62 years old, or older, or disabled of any age. The income limit for one person is $33,100 per year and two is $37,800 per year. The garbage, water, and sewer are all included in the rent. The heat is separate from the rent through NYSEG with thermal storage heat. The lease is for a full year, but, if at any point you wish to vacate, you can give a 30 day notice by the first of the month in writing. 1/3 of the security deposit is due along with the first months' rent in order to move in. The rent is based on 30% of the household gross income.
