This property is located in the scenic Village of L'Anse, which is located along the south-eastern shore of Lake Superior's Keweenaw Bay in northern Baraga County - a very popular tourist and retirement area! This area is rich in history, and was settled first by native Americans, and later by French explorers, trappers, loggers, and missionaries. Just a few blocks away, "down town", is the L'Anse Marina and Village Park where there is a swimming beach, playground and pavilion (where weekly summer concerts are held). Just "around the corner" from the park is a great deep water Marina, where there are boat slips, and a volleyball court. Snowmobiling on groomed trails, X-Country Skiing at the Pinery, and Ice Fishing on the "Big Lake" are winter enjoyments. Spring and Summer offers boating, fishing, golfing, hiking, swimming, and waterfall trekking opportunities close by. A nine hole golf course, a gambling casino, the Bishop Baraga Shrine, and Mount Arvon, Michigan's highest point, are some of the areas attractions. Fall Color Touring is outstanding! The One-Story building was dedicated for use by a Church Organization in October 1961, and has continued to be used for services since that time. Now the congregation has moved to larger quarters, and are offering the building for sale. A Covered Entrance Way is located off the high visibility Main Street of the Village. The first floor has a foyer (10x19) with stair leading down and a small closet at the end (10x7), community room (27x38), two closets by the former altar area (8x8 and 7x7) with stairs leading down to lower level. The Upper Level has a large central Open Room, off of which are smaller Office/Storage rooms. They could continue to be used for services by another organization, or could be converted to a multitude of new uses.
