Cabin includes a 15k btu vented propane furnace with wall thermostat, tiny-house 10-15k btu wood stove for emergency use, 3-gallon minimalist gravity shower stall, indoor/outdoor propane stove, & propane refrigerator outside on porch. 2-stage auto change-over regulator plumbed to black iron pipe w/stainless steel connectors, 2 smoke detectors, 2 CO detectors, & a propane leak detector for safety. 4-gallon propane bottles supply the gas needed for heat, cooking, and refrigeration. Approx 2-3 bottles of propane per week are required in dead-of-winter w/thermostat set at 69 deg during the day & 63 deg at night. Only 2-3 propane bottles PER MONTH required in the warmer months for cooking & fridge operation. Presently, all water used for drinking, cooking, & showering is hauled from Canon City & stored in 3-gal plastic bottles inside cabin (no piped running water). Taking care of business is easy - a chamber pot carried to your secluded, sanitary, 1/2-barrel-sealed, odor-free cat-hole, then concealed from view, as seen in photos. Small-scale 150 watt solar system with mppt charge controller & 1000 watt inverter is enough to power a small stereo, laptop, charging of phones, running a window fan, or short-term power tool use. High-amperage power tools require a gasoline generator. Rubbermaid 7x7 resin shed was constructed in June 2018. It has 2"x6" roof rafters added for handling snow load. Steel shelf units lagged to floor & walls make shed extra rigid. Double-vinyl dog door through cabin wall will fit up to a 25 lb dog leading to a 1/8th acre fenced area that surrounds cabin & shed (5' high galv wire fencing with steel T-posts every 5 ft). Fenced area gives dog(s) plenty of room to run & keeps out wildlife. Cabin could be used as a pleasant get-away or it can be lived in comfortably during any season while building a conventional home. It could also be used as a workshop, art studio, or minimalist vacation rental. Pinion & ponderosa pine trees cover property. Mule deer, mountain cottontail rabbits, song birds, & summer hummingbirds are plentiful. Also, an occasional fox & coyote is seen. No snakes, mountain lions, bears, scorpions, mosquitoes, or gnats have been seen since purchasing the property 2 years ago. Summer temps are 5-10 deg cooler than Canon City due to a 2400 ft higher elevation. Jan & Feb mid-day temps are usually 40s to 50s & sunny 90% of the time. Snowfalls are usually not more than 6" at a time (dry, fluffy, high-elevation snow).
