The Goetchius House was built in 1839 by Richard Goetchius who came to Columbus as a successful architect & builder. Inspired by New Orleans architecture, he built this home with it's wide entry hall, high ceilings & ornamental medallions for his bride, Miss Mary Anne Bennett. Moved from its original location (204 11th St) into the Historic District in 1969 and restored by James W. Woodruff Jr. Most recently it has served as a period restaurant.
