Originally located in Troup County, the 1854 log cabin was dismantled, moved to to a private ,wooded property with mature hardwoods and crossed by a picturesque stream in Hamilton, GA. A meticulous rebuilding process in 1984 included the integration of a modern h/a system down stairs and new wiring and plumbing throughout. Originally the cabin had a "dogtrot" floor plan, one room on each side of an open hall. The dogtrot was enclosed with double doors and enough of the original wood was left to floor it. An upper story was also built. They added board and batten bath, laundry area, dining and kitchen. The massive old logs were left exposed when possible. Great schools and low crime rate add to its appeal. Come live the good life in Harris County!!
