We're looking for quiet professionals, with one young child, or two older children. The rental is completely furnished, and the minimal rental period is one year. An extension is possible. We are in beautiful Amherst, Massachusetts. We are located on a quiet cul-de-sac near farmland, a bike path, and hiking. You'll be able to enjoy a backyard including good sized deck with table, chairs, umbrella & a grill. There is room for a garden. Amherst is home to the University of Massachusetts flagship campus, Amherst College and Hampshire College. Smith College is in nearby Northampton and Mount Holyoke College in nearby South Hadley. You will be close to a variety of grocery stores, restaurants, and major retail outlets. The unit is an 1050 square foot accessory dwelling attached to the main house. It has a separate ramp entrance with door widths which can accomodate a wheelchair. As you enter, there is an ample sized coat closet and wall hooks. The Master Bedroom has a king size bed and en suite bathroom, which includes a jacuzzi tub. It is equipped with grab bars. There are two closets, two luggage stands, and two dressers. Bedroom 2 has a double bed, a dresser, and a flat screen tv. Bedroom 3 has a double bed, a dresser and a workstation, including a printer and space for a computer. One of the 3 bedrooms can be easily converted to accomodate 2 twin beds. The hallway bathroom has a walk-in (with a very short front edge to step over) shower. It is equipped with grab bars, and a portable shower chair is available. The Great Room has a full kitchen, a small island, dining and living room area. It leads onto the deck. The kitchen has an induction stove top, with a regular/convection oven. There is a wall mounted flat screen tv, which can be swiveled towards the dining area or toward the couch. A hallway closet and a bathroom closet provide extra pillows, blankets, linens, and towels. In addition the the entire unit, you'll enjoy a beautiful all-season (heated) porch, a backyard deck with a table, chairs, umbrella, and a gas grill, and backyard access. There is parking for two cars lined up on the far left side of the driveway. There is also on street parking except during a snow or storm emergency. Amherst is home to the Emily Dickinson Homestead, the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, and the Yiddish Book Center. We are near a farm store with an ice cream stand, and a second farm with an ice cream stand. Major grocery stores near us include: Aldi's Whole Foods Trader Joe's Stop & Shop Big Y Walmart Shopping, and a variety of activities, entertainment and cultural venues are only a few miles away. Outdoor & Indoor Tennis/Pickleball courts are nearby. Springfield, MA (30 minutes south of Amherst), is home to the Dr. Seuss Museum, the Basketball Hall of Fame, and an MGM Casino. We're 50 minutes from Hartford, CT; 90 minutes from Boston; an hour and 30 minutes to southern VT and skiing; and an hour and 15 minutes to the Berkshires and Tanglewood the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
