    What's special

Step back in time with this charming 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom historic home, known as the Thorington House. Originally built in 1855, as per the assessor 1913, Nestled in the heart of the picturesque town of Genoa. This unique property offers a rare opportunity to own a piece of Nevada's history. Water Rights to the property from the Genoa Creek system with a cistern holding tank for the water that helps irrigate all the landscape. This home is in the Genoa Historic District and on the national registry., William J. Thorington (aka Lucky Bill) was a gambling man from California. With thousands of dollars in his bags, the gambler Thorington became landowner. He loaned money where needed, helped where he could, built fresh toll bridges at Carson Canyon and the first brick kiln in the valley, introduced irrigation, and soon was also the owner of a sawmill. Within just one year, Thorington became the wealthiest man in western Utah Territory until his untimely demise in 1858 (per Daniel Martin Eckhart "Quintus Hopper Of Nevada").
