The Old Sixth Ward Historic District is Houston's oldest intact neighborhood. Recently a city ordinance was passed which pretty much prevents the homes in this neighborhood from being torn down. Fortunately, the vast majority have been renovated in the recent past. The result has been a neighborhood with a large amount character in comparison to other neighborhoods in the area.
