Built in 1895. Extensively remodeled in 1995--Anderson-Pellar windows; new plumbing, new electrical, new septic, new well, new roof, new living room addition and expansion of kitchen and dining room. Steel entry doors with double locks. Dining room has double-hung picture windows and unique interior log siding. New kitchen cabinets were also installed at this time--Aristocraft cherry wood.. Roof has been repaired 2012. 2005, new foundation, new basement concrete floor, new vinyl in kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, dining room. Upstairs has original hardwood floor in 1 bedroom, other 2 were carpeted in 2005. LR is 28x18 with oversized double-hung windows and walk-patio on the east side. They also incorrectly state that it does not have an attic, which, it does. One of the possibilities of this house for remodeling includes expanding/enclosing the front porch to make a 3-season or 4-season room.. The historic Summer Kitchen could also be adapted as a guest room. I would say Zillow is underestimating the value and most likely basing their estimate on homes in the town of Flanagan. Our home is located in a rural area--not in town, on a quiet road with little traffic, but, only a couple of miles from Flanagan and a major state highway and only 10 miles from major businesses, such as Caterpillar, Donnellys, local hospital, WalMart, etc. There is a small chicken house on the property, as well as a historic small one room house called a Summer Kitchen, which was used for cooking back in the days before air conditioning. As it is close to Flanagan, there is available a 24-hour fitness center (PureLife), plus, the local high school installed a new Olympic size swimming pool/building in 2012. Public transportation is offered door to door (even to rural residents) by Show Bus for $7 to Bloomington/Normal (home of Illinois State University, Wesleyan University, State Farm Corporate Headquarters) and back (a 70 mile round trip). Flanagan also offers a new library just built on state highway. Anyone who thinks I would sell this home for 93,000 IS OUT OF THEIR MIND.. I have more in the house than that. Plus, compared to the dumps that I have looked at where people are asking a lot more for outdated, filthy carpet (carpets in my home are neutral colored and very clean) and drab, dark, dreary colors, this house looks like a gem. Not to mention that land is this area goes from anywhere from $12,000 to $50,000 an acre depending on whether it is improved or not. As a realtor told me, "I love what you have done with this house. You have kept all the colors neutral and the downstairs has an open floor plan. The large windows let in a lot of light and it is cheerful and spacious."
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
