ca 1700s antique in the heart of downtown Marblehead. Replete with period detail. Formal living and dining rooms, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a den/office. 2 fireplaces, one in the living room, and one in the large master bedroom. Bricked patio and private yard plus parking for 2 cars complete the picture. All in the center of town! Ok, that is the "official" listing. Here is my less formal description: Ours is a beautiful antique home in the heart of Marblehead's Historic District, wih two car off-street parking - a rarity in "Old Town" ("Downtown" to the natives). Short walk to the sail-boat-filled harbor, Fort Sewall and The Landing. Original, 2-foot-wide, 14-foot long "King James" boards are the floor of the big master bedroom- original wood flooring in the livingroom, too. Brick fireplaces, warm and inviting. 3rd floor has wonderful play-nook under the eaves for young children. Nearly-300-year old exposed roof beams on the 3-rd floor, made from old ship masts, lots of light, a warm feeling - what can we say, we raised a family here, love this house and are friends with all the neighbors! If we didn't have to move out of state, we'd stay here another 15 years. Neighborhood Description In the heart of Marblehead Historic District. House is on the corner of Pearl and High Street "the friendliest street downtown". Once a year everyone on High and neighbors on Pearl have a cookout on the street. Great place for kids, with playgrounds, parks and fields all within walking distance. Quiet, peaceful and safe. Well-maintained houses and beautiful gardens, mix of young couples, families and older 'Headers'. Neighbors here look out for each other. A couple of blocks in from Washington Street, the heart of downtown historic Marblehead. Great place to live, we raised our children here.
