Bill sips his morning coffee on the deck of his ''crab shack'' as he enjoys what he knows will be one of his last sunrises over the miles wide St. Johns River. ''Particularly splendid'' he remarks to his shy neighbors, the river otters as they carry on a quiet conversation beneath the dock. He scans the surface of the water looking for his friends the manatees as he recalls the time they surprised him and the grandkids by actually lifting their canoe out of the water with them in it! He will miss this beautiful serenity, and the site of so many special memories of the grandkids splashing in the pool and catching bass and bushels of shrimp and blue crabs each summer. The neighboring homes are not fancy, but the people have hearts of gold and have always looked out for them over the years.
