In the 50 days or so since I moved into my LGI home, I've had a multitude of problems requiring four separate warranty claims with LGI and two warranty claims with appliance manufacturers. To start, in the back corner of the underside of one of my cabinets there was a two-inch piece of particle board broken off - looked as though installer broke it off and stuck it back on hoping friction would hold it on and no one would notice. To LGIs credit, they did higher a company to fix it, but it certainly doesn't look new. Additionally, my electrical breakers trip randomly. My dryer breaker has tripped about a dozen times and still isn't fixed. LGI re-wired the connection between the dryer and power cord (stating it had to be wired differently than manufacturer recommends due to the GFI breakers used in house) but breaker sill trips. And my range, after 30 days, stopped working as it was tripping a breaker. The manufacturer determined there was a ground fault in range. After two weeks without a working range, the manufacturer came back to replace the electrical components but the ground fault was no longer present and range no longer tripped breaker (manufacturer still replaced components but now it's not clear what was causing the breaker to trip in first place and whether it's fixed), And, lastly, the breaker for my living room randomly tripped - in the middle of the night when nothing was even on. Given all these electrical issues, it seems there are serious issues with the way this house is wired. Also, I'm getting a huge number of bugs in my house. In the month of September alone, I've killed about 50 house flies. In October, I've killed at least a couple dozen more flies along with dozens of lady bugs. Since I rarely open windows and doors, most are probably coming through vents on the outside of the house but I've also observed bugs come in through seams around front door (which doesn't seem to be properly sealed and/or installed - door seems to be at a big of an angle. It's fun having to kill 1 - 3 house flies every day (there've been a couple days where I've killed about 15 flies/ladybugs). I've also noticed several other smaller issues that indicate poor quality, from cheap carpet in which you can feel nail heads underneath to scuffed up baseboard to little bits of paint splatter all over the floors. I'm really thinking LGI homes are built with cheap materials and labor and are not built to last. It's very depressing to throw your life's savings at a home and have constant problems. I have no doubt these problems will continue. I feel I made a huge mistake buying this home. Hopefully, in a couple years, I will be able to sell it - I'm guessing I'll have to sell at a loss, though.
